Yesterday evening,  Tory MPs reneged on the party’s repeated election promises by voting down cross-party amendments specifically designed to ensure that the National Health Service and Food Standards were not on the table in any future post-Brexit trade deals.

VOTES

6 TORIES

251 MPs voted for the amendments, which included 182 Labour, 44 SNP, 10 Liberal Democrat, 6 DUP, 3 Plaid Cymru, 2 SDLP, 1 Alliance, 1 Independent and 1 Green.

All 6 of Scotland’s Tory MPs voted not to protect NHS Scotland and Scotland’s farmers from post Brexit ruin.Jack

On Sunday, in an interview on the BBC’s Politics Scotland with Gordon Brewer, Alister Jack MP, Tory UK Secretary of State for Scotland, promised not to compromise the high food standards of Scotland’s agricultural industry. That promise lasted less than 24 hours!maxresdefault

His claim that the ‘single market’ powers the Tory UK Government are seeking are in some way benign and no threat to devolution can now be seen in the context of last night’s vote as a complete bare faced pack of lies.
